In Uruguayans on the Road, we pick out three stand-out performances of Uruguayans playing abroad. This weekly series keeps you up-to-date on which Uruguayos are turning some heads.

1. Giorgian De Arrascaeta

If there was any doubt on if De Arrascaeta deserves a chance for Uruguay, it has been taken away this weekend. With a goal and an assist, the 22-year-old playmaker, single-handedly, decided the Clássico Mineiro for his club Cruzeiro. Tabárez, Giorgian es Uruguayo!

2. Edinson Cavani

Cavani has been in sensational form all season and has added to his already impressive goal tally with a brace on Saturday night. In the Coupe de la Ligue final, Edinson got PSG’s third and fourth goal in a 4-1 win over AS Monaco. The hitman from Salto now has reached 40 goals in all competitions this season. El Matador!

3. Luis Suárez

A goal, an assist, a shot on the bar and a penalty claim. Yes, it was a typical Luis Suárez performance. The Uruguayan was the key man in Barcelona’s 4-1 win away at Granada. Suárez has now gone into double figures for both goals (23) and assists (10) in La Liga this season, making him the first player to do so across Europe’s Top-5 leagues. El Pistolero!
